Dear Miss Maxwell,
As per Helen's instructions on Friday, I am in contact with John Oblanas
concerning your interest in him for the Director of Development position
(DOD).
Originally, this position was presented to Mr. Oblanas with the concept that it
was a heavy travel job and supervisory / management position, but that it did not
need to be based in NYC where Stephen would handle the liaison function. The idea
was that the DOD would be able to do his on site work, meet the principals on
location or in NYC as required, but perform the oversight and reporting function
from another location besides NYC. I do not believe that he is seeking to
relocate.
My recommendation is that before bringing John to NYC for an interview, you
consider whether the position has changed somewhat with Stephen's departure.
Perhaps a phone interview with him on Monday would be a good way to proceed so
that your time is not wasted in this matter.

Dear Miss Maxwell,
I had a long conversation with Robert Wright on Saturday. He was sorry to hear
that Stephen had left as he felt that he had a good rapport with him over the
phone. The apparently spoke Greek for part of the conversation.
Robert remains interested in the position of Director of Development and pointed
out that he has expertise in the Director of Residences type position as well.
Obviously the turnover in this position has given him pause and I explained that
you have been challenged to find the right professional who function at all
levels of the job requirements.
Robert is currently involved in a variety of projects that make a visit to NYC
something he would prefer to do knowing better if he will be discussing the DOD
position or something a little different. He and I are both suggesting to you
that a Monday morning phone interview might be the way to make first contact and
confirm strong mutual interest in this project.
Please let me know your thoughts. Helen can reach him on his cell phone on Monday
